JTPAC Dance Fest Presents – Samadhina Trance

Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai is a name that needs no introduction. The phenomenal dancer who could be treated as the Goddess of Bharatanatyam holds a Padma Shri and Kala Ratna along with hundreds of other recognitions for her contribution to the dance form. The elegance of her performance takes the breath away from the audience and leave them speechless of what they witness every single time.

The talented dancer who was trained by Bharatanatyam dancers Chitra Visweswaran and Padma Subrahmanyam became an independent dancer and choreographer in her early twenties. She now runs a dance school called Kalarpana in Chennai where she is passing her talent on to the young aspiring artists who are in a quest for the amazing and sacred art form.

Bharatanatyam was once considered as only an elitist art but has now grown its shade out of the temple doors and chambers to please everyone. The hardship to understand the Mudras in Bharatanatyam by a non-professional can be overcome by the expressions of the artist. The right music accompanying the artist will awaken your senses which will gradually push you into the art form itself. Soon you will realize that you are no longer oblivious to the true meaning of magnificence.

In a quest to bring Bharatanatyam an eclectic and spiritual form, JTPAC Dance Fest brings you – Samadhina Trance. A two hour dive into elegance. Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai, the renowned dancer who has captured the hearts of thousands through her flawless dancing and mind blowing acting is getting ready to perform before you to turn your evening colorful and splendid. The dancing legend is to sync her steps to the famous pianist Anil Srinivasan, guitarist Sanjoy Das, and Padma Sri Award winning tabla player Vijay Ghate.

Samadhina is all set to blend music with the sacred dance form to fascinate you and pin you down to the center of splendor, which is scheduled to start at 6.30 pm on 10th August in JT Performing Arts Center, Choice School Campus, Tripunithura, Kochi.
